How to do SEO to get Top #1 on Google.com for 1 month?

Hello friends on Sitepoint community,

After 1 month with some effort, I could see our web hosting forum could get top #3 on Google.com with keyword “web hosting forum”.

Now I am wanting to have it on top #1 on Google.com, so I need some advice from SEO experts here to help our forum can get top 1 for 1 month more. It is possible? if yes, then what techniques would you suggest to apply for getting best ranking?

Thanks in advance.
Matt

As explained to you in a previous thread of yours, that question is like asking “how long’s a piece of string?” There is no definitive answer.

Think about it for a moment and you’ll realise there can be no definitive answer. If 1st position on Google results could be obtained by doing x, y, and z then everybody would do x, y and z - but since not everybody can be in first place…

@yestyle it looks as though all your questions are in the same vein. Why not take note of the answers you have received before?

No is is to identify the page which you are targetting in SERPS for 1st ranking then do all the seo optimization of that page.
Then add high quality content to it.
Then add back links to this page from various sources like social community, other sites and so on.

It will be better to study seo first because SEO is very big and so you need to feel seo is you want to get results.

I think you have that the wrong way round; you need the high quality content in place before you start the optimisation.

Links which you can place yourself are regarded as virtually worthless by search engines, and links from most social media sites are “nofollow”, which will have no influence on SERPs.

It’s not that big, really. From Google’s “Search Engine Optimization Starter Guide”:

Even though this guide’s title contains the words “search engine”,
we’d like to say that you should base your optimization decisions first
and foremost on what’s best for the visitors of your site. They’re the
main consumers of your content and are using search engines to find
your work. Focusing too hard on specific tweaks to gain ranking in the
organic results of search engines may not deliver the desired results.
Search engine optimization is about putting your site’s best foot
forward when it comes to visibility in search engines, but your
ultimate consumers are your users, not search engines.
