How old site should be?

I mean how old should domain be so that back links do the job. I just want to hear your experience on this.
Once I registred new domain and got 700 back links in a month but didn’t reached first page on google altough there was sites with just like 3-4 back links so I guess it was about domain age

Domain age play an important role in the ranking of keywords. But its not the only factors. Your On page SEO i.e meta settings, title competition against your keyword and there are many other factors which involve in ranking of keywords.

It depends on many factors, I’ve had my site for a few months now and it scores high on some keywords. Read up on some SEO guides

probably not. There are about two hundred different factors Google takes into account and domain age is one of the least important of them.

How long does a site take to rank for a competitive keyword? I’ve heard it takes about a year or so to catch up, does this sound about right?

Domain Age yes a factor but not the only one reason for site SERP ranking. A;so keep in mind a old site or domain not necessarily will rank high. It depends on about your site quality, keywords, how soon you update sites, backlinks etc. Quality that what you are delivering to your users is all matters.

Age of domain does affect but i do not think that it does much affect the ranking. There are many other thing which are very important than this.

There are lot of factors involved. Age is one of them.
Still you can’t know for sure why is that happening unless you know the algorithm of the search engine.

There are many competitive domains out there that appear overnight, simply due to popularity. If Oprah were to suddenly start talking about my website I wouldn’t be shocked if I started ranking well for competitive keywords, simply because there would be great interest on the Internet for my website.

I agree with felgall in that age is probably worth very little in the eyes of Google. Age is, of course, a vital factor in link building because an older website will have had longer to accumulate links, but age itself is likely not a strong factor.

Hi,

Yes definetly Domain Age really affects ranking on search engine. So many factors consider domain age some of them i am going to explain.

  1. dont used high competitive keywords if you have a new domain

it’s all about quality and not on quantity.

You can let your domain age for a few months before you start building your backlinks. You should do it gradually and should look natural. For instance, try to create at least 50 backlinks per month then add 20 backlinks after each month.

Everything that needs to be said has been said.
