Hi guys. I am using google adwords. Have just started out using google adwords for my own transport business. Have done a lot of research on my keywords etc, not using broad match for my keywords.
What I do not understand is the adgroups default bids eg. Search and content automatic placements etc?
I have a limit on my adwords to £10 per day and have entered 1.50 for search and 1.50 for content:automatic placements.
What is search for?
I have noticed for today for my keywords. I have had 1300 impressions and it says I have 6 clicks, with the average position of 2.6, but when I look at the keywords individually all the keywords have 0 clicks by them. Why is this?
Through Google AdWords you can advertise in three places (actually more, but these are the basics):
Google search result pages
Search result pages of Google partners (ex: AOL search)
Millions of websites that display Google AdSense advertisements on normal webpages
#1 and #2 are “search” and #3 is “content”. When you bid for search ads, you’re bidding to display your ad next to search results in search engines. When you bid for content placements, you’re bidding to display your ad in webpages not controlled by Google.
Until you are experienced at managing PPC campaigns, you should probably not advertise on content sites. You can end up wasting a lot of money on traffic that doesn’t convert as well. Test things on search only, then slowly add content sites to the mix with lower bids.
The reports are not updated in real-time, there is a delay between activity occurring and it showing up in your account. This delay is greater the more detailed you drill into your reports. If you look at dates in the past, then the numbers will add up correctly.
