As with many other people Google offers up their biggest incoming traffic more than likely, but how do I go about getting traffic from Yahoo and Bing? Do I carry on optimising the site the same way as I do for Google?
I use Bing webmaster tools, submitted my sitemaps to both and not really sure what else to do.
Yahoo, Bing and Google are all looking for pretty much the same things out of a website, so what works for Google usually works pretty well for the others. Sure, the algorithms are slightly different, which is why the results are slightly different, but you don’t really need to adopt a different strategy.
For what it’s worth, my main website performs at least as well in Yahoo and Bing as it does in Google, but Google accounts for 93% of all search referrals. Conclusion? It isn’t worth spending a lot of time or effort worrying about any search engines apart from Google*, because they have such a small user-base in comparison.
* unless you are targeting China or one of the few other countries where Google is a minor player.
Bing is more concerned about On-page optimization rather then Off-page. So it will be good if you do a good on page optimization and strong content on your site.
