Aren’t you confusing AdWords with AdSense? There are many possibilities of monetizing a website, ad networks like AdSense, Adbrite, Chitika etc. there are affiliate programs (Pay Per Click and Pay Per Sale and mixes of two of these options) you may also find advertisers on your own. But since I don’t know anything about your website and traffic I can’t advise much.
I am agree with =webmaster= provide some information about your traffic like which the main source of traffic refferal, direct or search engines.

I think you are talking about Google AdSense not AdWords and if it so in that case you can
display both the ads.

If you are talking about adsense then adsense is giving that opportunity to work with more than a single ad network in your site.
