It’s pretty rare you’ll ever see us give away one of our most popular books, but that is exactly what is happening right now.
At this very moment, we are giving away digital copies of jQuery: Novice to Ninja! It’s all part of our “This Cup” promotion which you can learn about here:
I went to the web page from my phone, got the link sent to my email, but wanted to wait to download the pdf until I was at my computer. Evidently the download was cut of on or before midnight Jul 13 eastern time.
@captainstarbuck: we have free samples of all our books available, usually 2-4 chapters that you can get as a pdf to help you decide if it’s right for you.
It is easy to say thanks for the free book and all of that… but what is lost is that is a bloody fantastic book. I shudder at the thought of Java Script. I opened this book and within 5 minutes I had my first Zebra striped table… 2 minutes later, I re-wrote the JS - without looking!
(Watch out! Java Script forum is going to get flooded with newbie questions…)
Thanks… for the great book, and for making it available for free!
Biggg sigh. I don’t begrudge anyone getting something for free but I wouldn’t be human if I wasn’t feeling a little snarked being offered something for free that I paid hard earned money for two days earlier.
I bought this book for the discount price of $4.95 offered on the 10th. Not a lot I know but after getting two of three emails from you guys saying this special offer was about to expire I took the hint and bought it. To find two days later you are giving it away.
As I said not a big deal but I’d be lying if I didn’t admit this niggled me when I saw this thread.
