I think it’s a bit of both. We (England) have potential but it’s never realised. It’s so frustrating! The USA has improved quite a bit over the years.
Still, at least I didn’t lose my bet with my American colleagues 
England scored twice and the end score is 1-1
Go figure …

Heh, from what everyone was saying to me I would have placed a bet that England would have won but it seems England aren’t as good as everyone boosts them up to be! 
Or the USA are underestimated in football.

People (my circle of friends) get into the world cup when the US plays. There was an interesting article on the cycle of interest in football in the US… It basically, with research, showed that Americans always had a huge interest in football… up to a certain age… I think after 14, the youth moved on to more American sports… so the interest was and is always there… the ability to sustain it is where the US struggles - because there is no effort to sustain it. Football is talked about by a lot only during the world cup, other than that, you don’t hear much about it.
What’s the support and interest in the US team like over in the USA? Are people getting into the World Cup?
I must admit we got some very lucky calls (not luck persay, just … whatever lol :))
Overall it was a very good game. Loved watching every minute of it.
Disappointing. England had at least 5 good opportunities/crosses to score but did not. They need to buck up with their game.
meh, we didnt lose so its not all bad.
Shows that Heskey deserves his place and that we can play well. USA are no pushover team.

Excellent score for the US team but I still believe they don’t have a level to shine in a World Cup (yet). England will pass…

We always have a nervy skin-o-teeth starts so just the one goal between the teams I think.
