Duplicate posts, categories

Im working on redesigning a wordpress site (the old site has a lot of junk data)
How can I only copy the Posts and Categories over to the new wordpress site
(my guess to copy the posts, postsmeta, terms, term_relationships anmd the term_taxonomy tables)

Export it and then Import it (you can do this from the Dashboard)
