CSI Type Shows?

I have really got hooked lately on watching CSI. I love that show. I seem to be watching 1- 2 episodes a day in between working at home. I have season 3 left and then I have season 1 for Miami.

Does anybody know of any shows that are similiar. Something like a crime is committed and they try to figure out who did it?

Well,

i guess that’s the normal crime series plot…
over here in germany there are some shows which are quite similiar to CSI:

Medical Detectives
Anwälte der Toten (Lawyers of the dead)

There’s one on discovery or lifetime that is real-life forensic sciences. Can’t remember the name of it off hand. There’s also one that has forensic scientists trying to prove/disprove historical events by analyzing data and evidence from that event.

You might have 11+ seasons of Law & Order to watch if you never have  Plus the spin-offs :xeye:

Yeah - I was going to ask that… How many flavours does Law & Order come in these days. And why does the guy in Criminal Intent never shave before filming…?

CSI is pretty hard to beat IMHO. Does anyone here recommend anything over CSI?

Nope - the original CSI is the best. IMHO too!

I watch CSI every Thursday and CSI: Miami when I can. The Spin off just doesn’t seem as good as the original to me. There is a new series from the same people starting this week (if in the US it is on after 60 Minutes tomorrow) called “Cold Case”.

Hmmm… I also watch “Without a Trace” which is okay and is strictly about the FBI tracking down kidnappings and missing persons. It happens to be on after CSI so I watch it simply because I don’t want to change the channel and nothing else is usually on.

My wife likes to watch shows like New Detectives, Forensic Files, Cold Case Files, and a myriad of others. They are okay but get a little dull after a few episodes. They show on the Discovery series of channels at various times and CourtTV has a few similar shows as well. I used to joke that you can watch murder 24 hours a day if you wanted to.

Law and Order is okay as well but not a spectacular show in my opinion. Others seem to really like it though. If you want a crime show with a military perspective, there is JAG. My father likes that one but I have never watched it before.

That’s funny - Without a Trace is on here on Wed nights after CSI Miami! (We get CSI on Tuesday nights)

They really pushed Without a Trace here coz of the 2 Aussie actors in it… but the show itself is only just a pass.

Yup CSI: Miami doesn’t seem quite as good as the original. I can’t get as excited about it as the original CSI (yes, I set my mobile phone alarm clock 5 mins before the show starts showing).

I think the main reason is the actors characters, especially Grissom who is a really amazing, intriguing character. Not to say that Horatio isn’t a cool dude either, but Grissom really blows me away as an excellent character.

Hehe…Without a trace, that started just two week ago over here and is on tuesday night

Yep, I think it is character dynamics as well. The new season of CSI just started here last Thursday as a two-hour episode shown over 2 weeks. Very good intro so far.

I am a fan of Law and Order and especially Law and Order: Criminal Intent. Unfortunately I don’t get much time to watch television. I saw part of the pilot for “Monk” which was cool.

Can’t say I’m a CSI fan though.

I love Law & Order; it’s spinoffs are pretty good too. I also watch CSI when I catch it, CSI: Miami isn’t as good IMO.

Diagnosis Murder

Sean

CSI - the best available right now. I remember loving the show “Quincy” (late 70’s, early 80’s I think) because of the forensics, and when CSI came along I was thrilled that it was such a success. I will also watch CSI:Miami at times, but I don’t plan around it like I do for CSI. I do like the blonde on CSI:Miami - a hot chick who digs firearms! Yeah, baby!

Another good show, if you like westerns, is “Peacemakers” on USA network, starring Tom Berenger. Kind of “CSI” with horses!

And “Monk” is extremely good, as well.

I just realized I probably watch too much TV! I should be learning PHP! Damn this thread!

if you like CSI and them type shows and have Discover channel wherever you’ll live, turn it on around 9-10pm and usually there is shows on like FBI Files or Real Detectives that are pretty good

If you have the whole Discovery Lineup (Discovery, Learning Channel, Animal Planet, Discovery Times, Wings, Science, Kids, History, HDTV, I am sure there are more since we have about 12-15 channels with the Discovery name on them.) then you can pretty much watch them 24 hours a day.

haha yep i do but my kids seem to have control over the TV until they go to bed at 9pm so i don’t usually get to watch anything other then Disney Channel or Nickalodeon until then
