Corel vs. Photoshop?

I’m new to illustration software.
I’m a stand alone user, not employed by anyone.
Not sure I’ll collaborate on line, but maybe.
Looking for software to do preliminary work for painting on canvas, so working out color schemes, composition and such.
I want to be able to print the illustration as final artwork, also want to send to vendor to put image on canvas (geclee).
I want to be able to easily create different color schemes for the same drawing.
I want to be able to import photos and reduce them to line drawings I think, unless that doesn’t make any sense. Like I said,
I’m new to illustration software, but I do have some experience with Autodesk’s, AutoCad & Revit software.
Which one is easier to use or rather to learn?

I don’t have any experience with Corel, but from what I have heard it’s a nice application. I’m a Photoshop Guy (No pun intended) and have taken two college courses in Photoshop. I know Photoshop pretty good and I’m always using it for my website development and design that I do. I also use it for fun. There are a lot of resources on the internet for Photoshop, but I’m not too sure about Corel. The only negative thing about Photoshop (or any Adobe software) is that it’s subscription based. I’m sure you can’t go wrong with either one, but I just thought I would my bias between the two.

Photoshop has excellent print management and Photoshop should handle the other issues that you mention with no problems.
