I’m here because I am lost. Almost a year ago I created a Blogger blog and monetized it with Adsense, which is what I want to concentrate on. After I learn what I am doing I’ll consider affiliate products. My problem is that right after creating my one and only Blogger blog I had a severe accident that sidelined me for months. Now that I am back, I have misplaced my adsense info emailed to me upon acceptance by Google. As I am new to all this I was not aware of online forums to get help until now.
You know the code one is supposed to insert in blogs for Adsense Ads, is that generic except for the Pub ID #. How can I get that code? I have my Pub ID #, which I got from Google Adsense when I logged into my account. I want to begin creating more blogs to monetize with adsense but without the code I’ll be working for nothing. I have tried getting help from Google but their help site and/or help forum is a joke. After hours of going through a countless number of pages, I can’t find a way to contact them directly. So, I have decided to ask for help or guidance here. Today I posted this same query at six (6) different forums. I’m hoping someone can help me sort this out. This is really driving me crazy.
Now, short story LONG, when I go to my old blog and log in I find it has been taken over by someone else. When I created the blog I posted several articles on weightloss and how it affects one’s health for the better. Now I find it full of posts/articles on birthday cakes and recipes for same. My blogs name was weightloss-information-and-health.com (without the hyphens) but the header there now reads ‘Weightloss Information’. I don’t know how this happened but like I said, I can’t contact Google to report this and fix the problem. When I enter either name in my browser neither site comes up but I can log into my blogger account and access the blog, which is now full of cake information. I really can’t understand this because someone has put a lot of work into this with all the content, including images and video’s. Why take over my blog and not just create their own?
If possible, I would just like to delete that old blog and begin anew. I don’t feel very secure with someone else having access to my blog. There must be some way to secure even a blogger blog. I just don’t know how to go about it. Anyone here have experience with this or just know how to go about it? Both the deleting and securing.
Regarding your adsense information, you asnwered yourself: Google has everything, including the code that you need to add to your blog to monetize it. You will find that when you log into your adsense account and create and choose an ad format to display on your site.
Having said that, with blogger you only need your ID which you said that you got when you logged in your adsense account and Blogger customization system will take care of the rest.
Regarding someone else hacking your blog and using it for his own purpose, you have no choice but to inform Google and let them investigate. You can, of course, delete your blog and start anew (even export the data before you do so) but I would submit a support ticket to Google (or whatever system they use) and tell them what happened and let them investigate
Additionally, since you’re the blog owner and I assume that this person is using your username, I would change my password to something that cannot be hacked easily. Something like A45añkjfñkjRTvg, as an example.
So, if I log into my adsense acct and choose a new ad format to display on my blog, they will give me the code I need to plug into my site? That is what I am understanding you to say. I’ll try it!
Now regarding Blogger, if I understand you correctly, the blogger customization system takes care of it all with my only having to supply my adsense pub ID#, correct? I’ve only done this once and that was almost a year ago and I really can’t remember what the process was that I went through then.
As for my contacting Google, I tried and spent several hours wading through scores of crap pages and never could find a direct link to those clowns. I gave up after 4 or 5 hours!
I’m not sure how exactly to delete my blog and or how to back it up either. I was hoping to get that direction here from someone with blogger experience. I’m not sure what the consequences will or can be by doing it wrong. I already have headache enough, why creat more?
I will change my password and thanks for the example.
Yes, after selecting a new ad format, just continue the steps and soon you will get the code what you want.
With regards to delete and back up your blog, Just login to your blogger account and select “design button” “edit html” then click “download full template” for back up. To delete… go to “settings” click “delete blog” under basic option.
