Adsense Frustration -- Any Help Appreciated

So I am trying to put adsense ads on my site for the first time, and can’t get it to work. I am obviously doing something wrong, but can’t figure out what.

I’ve got a Adsense account, got the code, pasted it in the correct spot, etc, etc, etc. But all that shows up is blank space.

You can see what I’m talking about here: http://healththroughprayer.com/practice-moderation

The ads should be appearing in the right sidebar, below the “Now a Book” box. I’ve even added some text showing where the adsense block should start and end. If you right-click to “view page source” you’ll see the google code right where it should be. But all I’ve got is blank space.

What have I overlooked? Why are no ads showing?

Thanks in advance!

Alfred

Probably just an annoying question, but did you post the code as it was supplied, and in full?

Thanks Ralph. Yes, I’ve checked the code a bunch of times, and it is identical.

Interestingly, if I switch the code out to reflect a different size ad block, the amount of space between my text changes to reflect that. So something about the code is being recognized. But still no ads.

Perhaps your ads are above the budgets limits. Reduce the ads quantity, and see
if the ads show up.

Thanks everyone. The ads are finally showing. I didn’t do anything to fix it – they just popped up after 8 days of waiting. I guess when google says that it may take up to 4 days for your site to be approved and for ads to start showing, they actually mean “whenever we get around to it.” At any rate, problem solved. Thanks again.
