Checking back links

Hi.

I am trying to create backlinks to the site I’m working on and have found a few which I think would be relevant and hopefully increase page rank. How can I check to see if they aren’t already there without going through every backlink manually?

I tried Link Assistant, which is a free tool, but it threw up weird and wonderful backlinks and didn’t highlight some I know are there, so not sure I can really trust it.

Appreciate any help guys.

Thanks

Mike

Hey,

Some great backlink checkers:

http://www.opensiteexplorer.org/ (SEO Moz)

http://www.bestrank.com/tools/back-link-check (also has a anchor text checker)

Take your pick, I use all three for various things.

Links shared by JJMcClure are good ones. You can also check your backlinks in google webmaster tools if you have already subscribed for that.

Yeah, didn’t think to mention GWT, useful for finding out which of your backlinks Google knows about.

And welcome to the forum both of you

link:yourdomain name

This the best way of checking back links. And its show a true result.

i am using backlinkwatch.com which shows exact number of back links to my site. Try it out if you wish.

Thanks for the help guys

how we check backlink through this tool?

I use Market Samaria. Awesome tool not only for checking backlinks but for keyword and competition research.

I’m not sure what your question means, did you try visiting any of those tools and seeing how they work?

Thanks for sharing this information, but i prefer to used Google Analytics …
with google analytics, you can remote you’re traffic and know what most keyword that many people used to find you’re sites …

Time to lock this thread maybe.

the best way is to type in link: “your domain name” if you keep the " " then you will get a true number for who has that as a link
