you can use Ahref and Semrush for backlink checking if you can’t afford paid tools then you can go with some free tools but that will not be authentic.
Mostly free websites will show first 100 or 1000 backlinks so best of luck if you go with free tools

Explaining why you prefer a particular site would be more helpful than simply naming it.
I prefer to use SEO Profiler to check backlinks of my website as that tool provides the type of the link also. That means it will provide whether it is a do follow link or no follow link.

I’ve never used backlinkwatch.com. It might be great for checking links - I don’t know - but don’t believe them when they say
“Search Engine Optimization now revolves around link building”.
