About to buy hostgator? read this! positive review!

I have been using hostgator since around a couple of years now. I never really cared to praise them on some forums. Well, never saw any such section in any other forum. So thought that I should spend a couple of minutes to give them what they deserve.

Servers = 5/5
Reliability = 5/5
support = 4/5 [a little slow]

Servers are just cool. i think hostgator is the only company where technicians actually know what they are doing. As their logo [alligator] suggests, they actually are eating up their competition :D.

Some facts:

  1. I am not the host, neither I am affiliated with them.
  2. Have been using it for 2 years now.
  3. Using BABY plan.
  4. Would like to keep the domain secret. As its on NDA [non disclosure agreement] with my client.

Could you kindly provide that information in this thread as well? Without it this review is not valid and I’d have to remove it, which would be a shame!

Marcus, I appreciate your review, but could you please look at the template we set forth for host reviews? More specifically

BEFORE YOU START
You must specify (mandatory):

  • that you are not the host and that you are not affiliated with the host.
    Threads which do not comply will be removed.
  • how long you have been/were hosted
  • whether or not you are still hosted
  • what plan(s) (e.g., shared, reseller and VPS or dedicated [managed or unmanaged]) you have/had and
  • which domain(s) (without http:// and/or www) you have/had hosted with them

As to reviews web hosting, only the data can tell the truth. Personal feeling is only personal.:slight_smile:

Actually, i have rarely seen any negative reviews about hostgator. They knew what they had to do and they are doing it perfectly.

hostgator is always best choice for small sites but if you get bigger you see many limitations in their hosting service

I use the business plan. I bought mine on christmas, usually on christmas they sell the hosting very cheap. I made a deal with them for 2 years I think?

Black Friday is another time of the year when they have huge discounts. It’s rare that one needs/wants to buy hosting at the exact opportune time though, so congratulations on that! :slight_smile:

I’ve been on media temple for years - customer service is going down the drain - same with the service. Been down multiple times which I believe KILLS the SERPS of my sites. Thinking of making the switch to HostGator. They are based where I live, so if there is an issue, I could just drive to their office :slight_smile:
