Description

ECMAScript 2015: A SitePoint Anthology is a collection of the most useful and interesting articles on ECMAScript 2015 (a.k.a ES6) recently published on SitePoint, plus an exclusive article from everyone’s favorite developer evangelist, none other than Microsoft’s Christian Heilmann.

ES6 is now a ratified standard and brings a lot of new and exciting features to the language we love, many of which are covered in this anthology. However, as is often the case, it can take browser vendors a long time to implement these; you might be forgiven for asking yourself if ES6 is ready for the prime time. Well, the good news is that it is. Browser support is surprisingly good, and for those features not yet implemented, you can use a polyfill, or a compiler such as Babel.

This book assumes familiarity with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

Who is this for?

Intermediate-level developers with experience of JavaScript.

James is a regular contributor to SitePoint, most notably on topics around JavaScript. He's also the technical editor for various books (e.g. JavaScript: _Novice to Ninja_ and _Jump Start Vue.js_). He also works for his local university as a network admin / web dev where he spends a fair bit of my time working on Rails apps.
