Wordpress Site charges

Actually,I’m new to wordpress and i need an advice from the pros regarding wordpress site setup. I’ve setup this website using wordpress “http://info.galaksiseni.com” and i would like to know how much i can charge for these kind of setup.

What I’ve done :

  1. Setup wordpress into host
  2. Configure the theme (now its a free theme, what if i used a premium?)
  3. Search/Upload the plugins (7-8 types at these moment)
  4. Input all their content/pages
  5. Editing of images (what you see is just a few, there’ll be more)
  6. Need to train the client afterwards (post, editing pages, uploading etc)

Hope you guys can give some advice. Thank you.

If you provide this as a service, charge at your hourly rate. How long did it take or possibly how long should it have taken?

If you provide this as a standardised product, check what others charge for it and then decide how much more or less your offering is worth.

I hope this is not the old story of work done, but not agreed how much to pay?

Jochen

Thanks jdog,

Actually i’m thinking of doing a freelance in web building using wordpress. As for the link to the website that i supplied, i did the job FOC. That’s why I’m looking, searching for some samples or perhaps the charge rate so that i’m confident in charging clients afterwards.
I dont to be underpaid or overcharge. But perhaps based on what i did, u can roughly give an idea how much it is worth? Thanks

It would be worth different amounts to different people based on the value it provides them. To a small blogger just starting out, it might only be worth a couple hundred dollars. But to an established company with a budget for a new project, it might be worth a thousand dollars.

To flip it around a little, what is your time worth?

Thanks for the advice Beley,

Well, i’ve done some calculating for hourly rate and i roughly mine is 50usd per hour. Is it ok if i start at 500usd per project for a start?

Whatever puts food on your table. It’s up to you (and the market) to determine what to charge.

Only if your projects take exactly 10 hours. And don’t forget that your time is also devoted to marketing, accounting, taxes, whatever, so really you need to add this in.

If your time is worth 50/hr, then a 10 hour project should charge $600 or something like that. That way, you are being compensated for your time - your real, measured time!

Now its getting clearer. Thanks to Sagewing and 71709. Thanks to all. I wonder how some people can charge so low like 30usd or even 10usd per project? What do the client get with this kind of charges? Or maybe i just misunderstood?

  1. They’re teenagers just trying to make a few bucks.
  2. They’re in a country where $30 goes a long way.
