Ok Google analytics says this page:
https://www.visityork.org/christmas.aspx says 7s seconds to download, Yikes! What do people recommend these days as for a page bloat tool. Need to target whats slowing the page down.
Also how accurate is Google analytics page timings?

I have seen much worse, bit I think one of the main things looks like the number of requests.
The “Waterfalls” should show where bottlenecks exist.
Why don’t you just open the browsers developers tools and see for yourself how long it actually takes to load. You can also see the sizes of everything downloaded as well.
The page is 4.59 Megabytes. Way too big.

Here’s what happens when you run your site through it. Lots of low hanging fruit to fix.
