Which desktop recording software?

Hello DP’ers,

Im searching video recording program, that can record desktop activity (to make tutorial etc.) with ability to record sound from the inside computer (not from outside - with microphone) - and one important thing - i do not need to record cursor activity.

I have tried Debut, but its recording my mouse cursor too, and i searched and did not found where to turn it off.

I have tried Microsoft Expression Encoder 4 Screen Capture, but free version only limits to a 10 minutes of the record per single session. And upgrade is quite expensive.

Any other suggestions? I would prefer free, but would consider paid too.

p.s. please also suggest not very difficult video editing software also. All i need is to stitch several videos, add transitions in those places, ability to place image watermark, write some titles, add soundtrack.

Look into camstudio

I would agree with CamStudio. Free and works well.

I really like and use camtasia studio but it comes with a price but you can download the free trial

I use ScreenFlow, but it’s only for Mac (or used to be, not sure now …).

For PC, a good one is Camtasia. But cheaper alternatives include [URL=“http://www.shinywhitebox.com/home/home.html”]iShowU, [URL=“http://www.ambrosiasw.com/utilities/snapzprox/”]SnapzProX, [URL=“http://www.techsmith.com/jing/”]Jing and [URL=“http://camstudio.org/”]CamStudio.

A more high end option is Adobe Captivate … but I think it’s pretty expensive.

Adobe captivate is the best if you can afford it and really need to spend those bucks to have something that is very professional.
But if it is for regular basic use then CamStudio is good enough IMO. But CamStudio consumes a lot of resources esp. RAM wise.
Other alternatives would be: BB FlashBack Express or Fraps.
