Which application most preferable for ecommerce?

Can anybody tell me that which application is most preferable for ecommerce?
Magento Development,
osCommerce Development,
ZenCart Development,
Joomla Development
On above list which open source preferable for me. Plz give me your reply with some detail.

all are good. i personally like oscommerce.

i mean i want to build a website that has rich GUI for users to buy my products. I have limited financial resources so i have to be careful on financial point of view. But that doesn’t mean that i will adjust with quality…i mean if any of above solution is costly but still having rich features that attracts my visitors to buy products then i can put in some extra money to implement that e-commerce solution

Joomla probably falls more into the CMS chamber opposed to eCommerce.

Option E: None of the above.

Read the sticky threads.

I think its depends on what are you using for and what functionality you are seeking, personally i regard Joomla as a Content Mangagement system CMS and osCommerce and ZenCart as shopping chart solutions.

Please provide us with the following info:

  • how much products will be in your store
  • what kind of products you plan to sell
  • what is the main idea of your store

I think only after this we can give you any real suggestions, because it is not enough info for now.

There is no cart “for any case”, each shopping cart on the market has its benefits.

We recommend Magento, only because it can be customized and integrated with about everything. We always look at the crazy stuff www.freegoldwatch.com does with their Magento install for inspiration.

You should give Total Shop UK a go, it’s based on CI v1.7.2

General Information

Total Shop UK eCommerce was initially developed by myself to use as a template for creating complete custom eCommerce sites for customers. I wanted to develop something that was easy to use and manage by everyone. After working with osCommerce and a few others I found that they were okay but they were not as easy as they could be for shop owners and to customise them took quite some time.

TSUK has been setup with Search Engine Optimisation in mind, using mod_rewite for friendly urls and meta tags created either dynamically or editable using the content managed pages.

Payment system setup was the next step and again I wanted something that could be easily set up and with PayPal that made it all possible. To set up TSUK with PayPal all that needs to be changed is the PayPal email address… Simple!!

Depending on your intentions there are many to choose from.’

Oscommerce is good, but I think it is time to go for better and uptodate application.

Try opencart www.opencart.com

Joomla is harder to work with, but I have had some good results with it. Zencart I also like.
