Tracing and color-filling

I’m using Fireworks MX 2004.
I scanned a picture of my niece, print screened, Ctrl + V, and attempted to trace the image using the pen tool. Then, when I attempted to color fill these areas, say, the iris of the eye for instance, the color would spill out.:rofl:
Magnifying the tracing, I see that the lines are very pixilated. Too porous to contain a fill?:drink:
How do I go about tracing and filling this image?

for a good tracing result it is preferred to use a vector software! like Illustrator and InkScape! Then search for tutorials about tracing, coloring and pen tool.
It needs some practice and patience to master the Pen tool! So take the time to learn properly!
