Toggle JavaScript in FireFox 26

Are there any safe Add-Ons for FireFox v26 that would allow me to toggle JavaScript on and off?

There doesn’t seem to be any consensus in the community.

One link I read mentions NoScript, but others say it is too invasive…

I know how to do about:config, but was looking for something that just takes a single click.

Thanks,

Debbie

I’ve used NoScript for a long time and don’t find any problem with it.

Try any add-on and see what you think. If you don’t like it, uninstall and try another.

Yeah, but sometimes I worry about security with Add-Ons.

(How do I know I’m not installing something malicious?!)

Since it seems that most people like JavaScript, there doesn’t seem to be much of a demand - and thus products - to turn off JavaScript.

Sometimes JS really annoys me!! Like last night I could not get to a website because the Ad was stuck in some countdown that kept resetting… (Article will display in 20… 19… 18 seconds…)

Sincerely,

Debbie

For quick toggling JS on/off in Firefox I always use the free Webdeveloper Toolbar add-on of Chris Pederick (Webdeveloper page here).

For 99% I’m not happy with extra toolbars, and never download them (extra browser space, security, spam, extra unwanted stuff, etc.), but this one is great!

 • The Webdeveloper Toolbar has lots of other things which can be toggled + lots of handy tools aboard. For me: invaluable.

It’s a welcome complement to the Firebug + Yslow add-ons: together good for quick diagnosis of the most different website problems.

And yes, all these are not malicious (with safe download via https-connection with mozilla.org).
So if you trust my innocent blue, brown, green eyes …
