Subdomains & main domain pr

Looking for insight between the subdomain and the main url PR value.

a) Some of the page values obviously transfer but how much? For example, is the relation about equal to that between the main url and secondary tags or less?

Would a decent strategy for an entirely new url be to first: develop the main url PR/ traffic and then add the subdomains?

b) For internal linking; do the same concepts apply for building value through internal linksbetween the subdomain/main url as between the main url/secondary pages?

c)
For external linking; sites are not as likely to link to a subdomain as for a main url. But are they more or less likely to link to subdomains or secondary pages?

Domains and sub-domains do not have PR. PR is something that individual web pages have regardless of what domain or sub-domain they are on.

Pages within a PR rated domain/site do attain value from it.

there is no such thing.

PR is associated with web pages and nothing but web pages. All domains and sub-domains have a PR of nothing at all. To have a PR you must have a web page and that PR belongs to the web page and not the domain.

If you don’t believe me then delete all the pages from your site and then see what PR your domain has.

If the web page happens to be the index, it matters.

For highly rated main urls, this is how general purpose domains are able to compete with the niche site.

If Wikipedia starts a page tomorrow on a previously unwritten topic, it is likely to go near the head of the results.
