Can anyone recommend a static CMS (ideally with no database) for a website I’ve developed, where the client needs to update text and background images for the header?
Not sure what you mean by a static CMS, but for adding a CMS to an existing site there are several options including Perch, Sitecake and Inline CMS.

I know of them all from looking through google but was wondering if anyone had any recommendations based on their experience as the client isn’t tech savvy at all.
I think I’m going to send the guy links to demos and see which one causes less stress! Inline CMS looks a potential winner.
