Share Your Unique Selling Proposition USP to Inspire Others

I’ve read a lot of threads on here talking about determining your USP, unique selling proposition. What makes you better/different from the competition. This far outweighs price.

How about everyone share their USP to inspire others to develop one that are new startups.

You started an interesting subject…

At which point it would stop being unique for a “Me too” interpretation of inspiration.

You do your own research of competition. See what they’re me tooing into the ground. Then do something differently. That would be why right click inspiration is contrary to the idea of a USP.

Just because they have something they call a USP, doesn’t make it unique, selling effective, or even a proposition. The end result USP, even were it good, does not show the background noise of competition a USP distinguishes itself against. The end result does not show you the development process.

Best thing for you do is post your first attempt. See what reviewers suggest improving upon it. Be inspired by the work you put into your own initial effort.

I use a combination of a slogan/branding statement and a 30 Second Elevator Pitch. The first summarizes what I offer in sentence and the second elaborates in a paragraph. They must be good as I’m often sending out DMCA’s or finding others that are virtually identical with slight phrasing variations. It really gives focus if you can distill what makes you unique down to an interesting sentence or paragraph.
A few years back I tried cold calling prospects for a new web-based service I had developed. The first few calls I was all over the map and it took a few calls to figure out what I had to say & present in the short time frame I had to get their attention. The 30 Second Elevator Pitch is similar - what would you say to hook a prospect if you bumped into them in an elevator?

Inspiration must be the alternate spelling of identical.

The process goes like this. You get into an elevator and the person asks what you do. You say the slogan, which provokes curiosity, like “Oh, how do you do that?” Upon which you then go into your USP/elevator pitch.

If the client says something like “that’s nice,” or comments on how clever it is, your slogan is (probably) not very effective.
