Rip Off Report

I have a domain name “mydomainname.com” that I purchased earlier this year. It is for an eCommerce store. When you search for “mydomainname.com” there is a “Rip Off Report” from years previously. I filed a rebuttal stating that the domain name is not affiliated with that company any more however I would like it removed from the report.

I have been working on reverse SEO to bump it off the first page, I am wondering if a DMCA complaint would be appropriate?

Any suggestions?

I think it’s pretty clear what ROR’s stance is regarding any report. Nothing gets removed or edited, with no exceptions. The only option is to post a rebuttal in which you point out to people that the company currently trading on the domain is completely different.

This issue has nothing to do with copyright or trademark infringement.

Probably not. It’s going to be very hard to claim infringement on a rating site.

What if I Trade Marked my domain name so they would have to remove it from the report?

I can’t see how you would claim a copyright violation unless they are misusing copyrighted information? Sounds like you need to send another email, dig for some actual contact addresses and try to escalate the issue.
