Are proxy site useful?
or harmful…???
Please guide me on this
How does your question relate to JavaScript?
I fail to understand the question… harmful or useful for what?
As always, it is a matter of trust… poxy service sites only provide a way to hide you IP details and respect your privacy. But some companies will not accept a IP address that they can’t truck (such as banks or the BBC TV)
There’s nothing wrong with using a proxy site if you want to keep your privacy but, as with any site and company, you have to know who you’re relying on.
I am just having a general query regarding proxy sites and i don’t think it relates to java script
not having much idea about it
My apologies, I was looking at the feed it came in through, not the forum that is here. Please ignore and continue
I have a little idea of proxy that i have heard off.
kindly update me on Proxy sites
Sorry but you need to be more specific… what do you want to know about proxy sites?
A proxy site is simply a web page with a field where you will write the url of the page you want to visit and then connect you to it.
The difference between using this page and writing the url in the address bar of your browser is that in the destination website statistics they will not have your IP address but the proxy’s.
If you visit the destination web directly (that is, you write the url in your address bar and hit enter), the destination web will have your public IP address and therefroe know in which city you live (no more than that).
That’s about it.
It’s rather obvious that they are harmful…
Look at it this way.
Why do people use proxy sites? To get to sites that are blocked to them, or to sites that they don’t want to leave evidence of visiting to. In a large percentage of these cases those sites are pornographic in nature.
Now we all know that one of the potential side effects of sex is sexually transmitted diseases (STD). And the more people you have sex the more likely you are to have an STD. If you’re surfing for porn, you’re probably horny, and horny people try to have more sex than non-horny people therefore people who surf porn sites are more likely to have STDs.
Now, keep in mind that you are sharing proxies with lots of other people, many of whom probably have STDs, so how are STDs passed along?
Through contact with other people with STDs of course (no Jimmy there is no STD fairy)…
So you’re now sharing a site with a bunch of people with STDs, and often at THE EXACT SAME TIME! You can’t get much closer contact wise than that.
So to recap
Proxys are used to surf for porn.
People who like porn probably have sex
Sex leads to STDs
STDs are shared through close contact and the stuff.
You’re sharing proxys with people who surf porn therefore they have STDs.
THEREFORE
If you use proxys you’re much more likely to get an STD.
STD = BAD
therefore
PROXY = BAD
So using proxies may make your wing wang fall off.
That was a bit too dramatic TKE… Amusing, but dramatic… I think that there’s a percentage of the population that may use it to do something like that… and, of course, something illegal and therefore they want the extra privacy but there’s also a good percentage that use them because they simply feel more secure keeping their information (in this case, IP address) private and then, there are other which try to fool a certain site because they have been targeted as living in country A and therefore the content they want to read is not available for them.
I tried with the BBC. There’s a program that I used to like and I can’t watch it since I live in Spain. Didn’t work. Those sites detect the proxy address and throw you out
But you’re the proof…
You used a proxy, correct?
And you don’t have a wing wang, correct?
Use proxy, no wing wang… Case closed.
But I never had one I’m a woman… It would have been strange if I was a woman and born with THAT!
I blame your use of proxies
