Post Title as Image

hello,

You know, there are this blogs with fantastic not pixeled titles of every posting. The fonts look so smoothly and the pages so professional because of this.

I have on question: How can you make automatically generated post titles, which are not a normal text - you can mark - but instead is a title generated as picture?

If you don’t know what i mean, here are example pages.
I have seen this on several pages. Just look at the titles of the posting of this sites.

How is this method called?
Where can I get a code example?
Where can I get a useful tutorial to achieve that?
With which script language can you achieve this?

thx

Matthias

Both of those sites use Cufon for the styled title. You can also research @font-face. For more info check out Font Squirrel | Create Your Own @font-face Kits

thanks for the answer. i like it. cool that this is a implementable tool. this save me to code something like this. you saved me a lot of time.

I never actually used Cufon. I just hit “insect element” to see how these sites did it. Is there any benefit to using Cufon over @font-face or was it the way to embed fonts before mainstream browser support came available?

Cufon is okay, but it’s less modern and relies on JavaScript. The new @font-family protocols are a better alternative. (And I love Cufon!)
