I installed some plugins the other day and today they are not in my plugins section they are not even in the plugins folder of wordpress. I’m wondering what happened here? I didn’t delete them. I did a search and saw something about having wordpress to auto update but I’m not sure if that was the cause of my plugins being deleted.
WordPress never remove the pluggins even when you have to update its version. If you could explain what particular pluggin caused an issue, we will be able to help you in a better way. But intial thoughts about it is, you may not have installed them properly, it would be there in “Inactive Pluggin” . Secondly possibility is that pluggin need some adjustment in widgets under appearance. Third possibility is, probably the pluggin you have installed was not good, might have been a corrupt one.
I used the auto plugin install of wordpress and it said it was install successfully. I installed a SEO plugin with the dofollow / nofollow addon. The inactive section is empty right now.
Sometimes the auto install of WordPress is not able to install the pluggins. You can do it manually too. Secondly possibility could is the plugging you have installed might be conflicting with wordpress default NoFollow attribute for comments. You would need to remove the fault one before you would install the dofollow / nofollow addon.
I’m not sure if it was conflicting with wordpress but I know I used it and it worked. I do remember that when I was editing a post something went wrong when I clicked on preview it did not show the changes to the post I did. When I went back to edit again the auto save message was on top I clicked it and after that the plugin had vanished. It’s weird…
Wordpress shouldn’t delete plugins. You said they aren’t in the folder. Do you mean you FTP’d into your server and somewher missing from the /plugin/ folder? Or are you saying you don’t see them within the admin panel?
hen I went back to edit again the auto save message was on top I clicked it and after that the plugin had vanished. It’s weird…
The auto update message usually disappears after a minute or so.
