PHP mail disabled

I have a client whose ISP is disabling the PHPMail function (from this Friday!). They say the scripts need to be modified to use SMTP authentication. Can anyone tell me what is involved please?

They are disabling the mail() function? Or are they just disabling direct SMTP mailings?

Seems strange that the ISP would not provide links or documentation on how to help you re-code your scripts.

Yes, sparek they seem to be disabling the php mail() function. To quote: “we have disabled the mail which is send through the website using PHP scripts to send mails”. I find it extraordinary that they gave less than a week’s notice.
