Photo Challenge (2012) - January

They’re part of the Great Ocean Road in Victoria. They used to be spectacular but not so much now. There even used to be a London Bridge but I think that’s gone too…

No, they are part of the coastline off the south west Victorian (Australia) coast - near Port Campbell and Warrnambool.

No, London Bridge is still there but part of it collapsed back in the early 70’s from memory. Attached are “before” and “after” photos of London Bridge. The before photo was taken circa late 60’s on a family holiday when I was a kid. The after photo was taken on a trip about 5 years ago now.

London Bridge is part of the same section of coastline as The 12 Apostles, collectively know as The Shipwreck Coast for historical reasons.

** I don’t know how to wrap OT tags around the London Bridge photos :frowning:

Mmm… I wouldn’t call it a bridge anymore. I’d probably call it… stumpy. Or just a foot-bridge.

Off Topic:

Yesterday you were waffling on about fluff posts and yet you post the above :lol:

I don’t see what London Bridge has got to do with this thread at all. I only posted the photos to show it is still there after your comment suggesting it might not be :slight_smile:

Shouldn’t you be at least wrapping your above post in ot tags if you want your suggestions elsewhere about fluff posting to be taken seriously? :wink:

Instead of posting fluff, why not post some photos that fit the purpose of this thread?

There, there Max… it’s all part of the discussion. OT tags or not, it can be read by everyone and takes up the same space. This has been a fun thread so far, let’s keep it that way.

Where was that photo taken? It appears to be a University, right?

And there are 2012 ONLY if you count the MotorCycle also as a ‘bike’ !

Nope, it’s in front of Rotterdam central station

WOW. I have been there (more than once) but did not recognize it. My time spent outside the building was only to grab a taxi. I don’t think I had seen it from that perspective.

I will never forget the interior*!

{*long story of a long, stressful time spent inside the station}

Maybe it wasn’t there when you were there? They’ve been rebuilding part of the station (and a new metro station if I’m correct) for the last 3-4 years, so it might be just a temporary solution.

How about two 2012 mascots (clever, eh?) :lol:

@TechnoBear ; what are they mascots for? They are really cute! Clever, YES!

They’re the mascots for the London 2012 Olympic Games.

Do you know what the “M” and “W” in their crown stands for? The design is quite avant garde!

Their names are Mandeville and Wenlock.

Delightful! Thanks for the link!

That is THE ULTIMATE in compliance with the theme!

ok, point taken. Consider me having been :whip:.

Maybe I over-reacted a bit, but it cheezes me off when people complain about fluff, wherever, and then go post what, imo, is fluff. So I’ll :x about it from now on :slight_smile:

Sorry bo5ton, if you were offended.

Moving on…2012 bottles.

The bottles were laid horizontally as “bricks” to build the house.

Crazy house! That’s pretty cool. Where did you take that photo? So many bottles!

I didn’t actually take the photo. It (35mm slide) was taken by my dad on one of our family “Sunday drives” to The Dandenongs (about 40kms east of Melbourne). It would have been around the early 70’s. I can’t remember exactly where in The Dandenongs the house was and I have no idea if it is even still there.

@Max Height ; You can’t fool me, I counted 2013… or was it 2014 … or 2015?
