PDF sizing (when there's lots of images)

No, not indesign, this is when opening the PDF within Adobe reader and selecting file - create Adobe PDF using Acrobat.com

This is in regards to the following comment and suggestion made earlier in this thread;

I use Adobe Acrobat to create PDFs, and there are options for saving the pdf, such as Print quality, Highest file size, Web friendly etc. (I don’t remember the exact terms.) For something that is mainly for viewing on the web, I use the optimize for web setting, as it vastly reduces the file size, and prints pretty well in my experience—especially text.

O, sorry, you’ve misinterpreted my (obviously confusing) comment. If I’ve made an InDesign document, I create the PDF version from within InDesign: File > Export. The options that come up wouldn’t be there if you didn’t have Acrobat installed; but that doesn’t mean you go directly to Acrobat to create the PDF. Sorry for the confusion.

Oh ok! I apologise for misunderstanding, but that makes sense now. I did have problems in trying to save the PDF within indesign and being able to have a PDF that had text that was able to be copied and pasted, etc. I’ve mentioned all this above so I wont again.

At this time I’m looking to outsource the work, any feedback on opening a PSD and all the layers into indesign, ultimately preventing the need to redesign the PSD design again in indesign? I do have about 80 pages and redesigning them all within indesign in order to generate a low file size, high-quality PDF I can only presume will cost me a lot of money. I know I have asked about the PSD-to-Indesign thing numerous times already, but I haven’t yet received a yes or no answer as to whether this is possible or not. From what I have found online in Google searches it seems to be possible but not working for me. When I outsource this work, I will want to ensure that the person is openings the PSD into indesign and saving as a PDF, and I’m not paying for them to redesign every single page of already designed Photoshop files if it is unnecessary.

Thanks.
