New New New to all of this

Hello everyone!

I have built a couple databases in Microsoft access and built many excel files using vba. I want to expand my knowledge and start helping the company I work for by learning how to build a database. With an easy to use interface. What are some really thorough trainings, courses, and/or books I could use to help me learn these things. Also to piggy back on that what programs, software would you recommend I have fiddled with visual studio but more of just designing forms. I appreciate all answers and advice!

Hi brianmoore55020, welcome to the forums!

I believe databases are the widest area there is to learn about. What do you have in mind, do you have a goal in level of knowledge and skill?

Maybe a start could be to find out what databases and software the company currently use, and see if there is something that could be exiting to start learning about.

But I’m a noob in this area. For more hands on suggestions I hope eventually a member with knowledge can step in.

If you end up going the way of an RDMS (Relational Database) one of the more important things to learn from the start is “Database Normalization”. It is pretty easy to learn but very important to know.
