Moving WordPress to a new domain

Hello,

I need to move WordPress to a new domain and having difficulties doing so.

I tried the following, however, it did not work:

change url from old location to the new one.
backup database from old location.
restore backup to the new location

Viola… not so fast…

Is there an easy and known way to transfer a wordpress website to a new server and domain ?

Thank you for the reply.

Yes, i did see this article and i tried following it.

My challenge was transferring all the plugins information to the new domain.

I was, in fact, successful in transferring it at the end but i had to manually replace the address of the old domain to the new domain as wordpress does not change everything when you change these settings.
