During my school time, Kodak is one of the most famous brand. Just found this article, Kodak are preparing to bankrupt. Market trend is changing so fast, a giant film is disappear soon.

What is next? Some market analyst predict that, Nokia could be next brand going to disappear in year 2012.

The world changes. The world of high technology changes even faster. Myspace was as of 4 or 5 years ago one of the top sites on the internet and the top social networking site. Now they are nothing. Myspace was purchased for $580 million in 2005 and sold for only $35 million in 2011. That’s a pretty huge fall from grace.

But then, Myspace sucked. Profiles took forever to load. I swear that was the slowest site on the internet and am not the least bit surprised it failed when Facebook is so much faster and easier to use.

looks like they didn’t manage the change to digital . which is kinda funny, as kodak developed the first digital camera back in '75… now thats ironic

I don’t think Kodak failed because they didn’t manage the change to digital, I believe it was because their film and processing sales was really their cash cow, and that business dried up because of digital and simply selling digital cameras couldn’t replace the lost revenue. The survivors of the transition to digital photography were the camera manufacturers like Nikon and Canon, not the film manufacturers like Kodak and (kinda) Polaroid.

Kodak didn’t adapt with the times…simple as that.

What a shame for such a historical company to go out of business. I have fond memories when I think of Kodak. It reminds me of the good old days when the world was more simple, when everything wasn’t digitial or wi-fi. It takes me back to my childhood and the excitement of capturing memories with a normal camera, and then going down to the shops to get them printed  I think physical photos still have a lot of value, but I guess most people don’t hold the same opinion.
