Keyword Position

Hi Friends,

I am doing continuous work for my website like directories, article, bookmarking etc. but still i am in 12th position. what to do next to increase my keyword position.

Your Quick reply will be appreciated.

You haven’t described about what your website deals with but use social networking sites like Facebook and also use twitter. In my point of view directory submission doesnt help now a days as it is used to before. And also use Blogs, forums this may help you in getting traffic.

Try out getting strong backlinks with the keywords in anchor text form popular pages.

Sometimes it’s just a matter of time. Your hard work may not show instantly.

Try working on your page itself.

just keep building links from relevant sites with your targeted anchor text and you will be soon there in top 10

I too found that directory submissions does not help you so much, but you could also keep posting using social book markings and social networking sites. .

The link building techniques you’re describing are likely your problem. Directories unless they are specific to your niche are likely not helping you at all. Make sure the page where your directory listing appears is actually indexed. But it may still be devalued and maybe not counted at all.

Article submissions are probably the best unnatural link building method. But submitted articles (like blog comments and forum links) loose their effectiveness over time after they fall off the recent articles page(s) and are only accessible via the archives linked deep in the article site.

Bookmarking… Social media in general “can” be good for generating traffic if done correctly, but has very little value from a link building perspective.

The problem with most unnatural linking building techniques where you are “planting” links on other sites pointing back to your own site is that they tend to fade over time. The pages they’re on loose their “juice” or end up getting deindexed.

The BEST method of link building is to get creative about how you can get other traditional sites to link to you naturally. These “editorial” links are RARELY affected by algorithm changes at Google to combat the most recent spamming and blackhat techniques. And the links on traditional web sites don’t rarely disappear once they’ve been placed their by a webmaster.

By creative, I mean if you sell motorcycle supplies for instance… maybe you should consider sending a “sample” of some sort… maybe a pair of leather biking gloves to webmasters of biker clubs that you know have web sites or owners of biking blogs or forums. Suggest that if they like the gloves that they drop a link on their site - specify the page and link text where you would like the link to appear. You’d be amazed at the response you might get for thinking outside the box.

build more high quality backlinks ,i think your position would be raise.

You please do do follow blog commenting or link exchange which gives you do follow links & some classified so it will give a boost to your website . Check the date on which site is crawled what is difference between one crawling & second crawling date .

The results might take some time. Do your job and wait for some time. I am sure, your hard work will pay off.

True, but they still have value and should probably be part of your total link profile. They may have been devalued a bit but certainly not disregarded.

Social Sites would help but I don’t think twitter will help because links here are nofollow. We all know that nofollow tags doesn’t have impact in google.

You can work on Web 2.0 pages like squidoo, ning, wordpress, blogger and many more

Listing your websites in directories almost don’t get any links. Try other better ways of backlinks.

Listing your websites in directories almost don’t get any links.

Depends on the directory.

Recently we have come to know that the directory submissions doesn’t help us the way it used to benefit us previously, however we should not stop submitting to the directories. In fact we should try to submit in some good quality directories with good PR, you may keep it minimum.

Here are some things that you can try out

  1. Get some backlink from social bookmarking sites.
  2. Start commenting on blogs especially dofollow.
  3. Finally don’t expect results instantly. Patience is the key.
