Is there a dark mode for the forums?

I suspect this may have been asked before, but I can’t find an answer, and I can find nothing in my preferences. Is there a dark mode for the forums?

I see on meta that Discourse used to have an automatic dark mode switching but that was oddly deprecated more than 3 years ago. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I had a very quick look (I’m just heading out) and found this:

So on that basis I’d say, no there isn’t one.

I just run DarkReader on my browsers, because I am a cave troll that spends far too much time staring at browser screens not to. It does a decent job with the sitepoint forums out of the box.

I don’t see the settings here, but on other Discourse forums (Including one that I know is up to date), the “Theme” setting can be found under Settings —> Preferences

I think the forum administrator needs to install a dark mode theme before the theme switcher appears.

I didn’t have a lot of luck with DarkReader, so I’m playing with writing my own rules using Stylus.

Probably not the smartest decision I’ve ever made but it’s quite fun and keeps me off the streets!
