I have a website which actively markets and promotes Gold Coast restaurants, Australia. We do a lot of work above the line but do you think that the majority of our finances and resources right now and into the future should be put into SEO?
The majority of your marketing should never be spent on one tactic until you’ve proven that it’s working well enjoy to justify that.
Hi lukeamac,
Trusting on “nature” to take its course is a lot of time nice as an idea but really weak as a business model. It’s good you know that in the future you will need to assign resources to marketing your site.
However, SEO isn’t the only way to go.
Sure, search engines are a great gateway to getting new traffic, but you are actually “limiting” yourself to the traffic that was searching for your type of site anyway. Banners are also a great way to go; another great tool can be social marketing. You would be surprised from the amount of fresh traffic that will bring you.
Good luck!
SERP in google, for example, is too much unpredictable to spend a lot money into SEO.
Good luck!
