Invite only current FB users with matching e-mail addresses

Hi,

Noob here.
Brand new FB Page set up.

I’ve got a list of about 3000 e-mail addresses of people that stayed in my bed-and-breakfast in the past 3 years.

I was about to use the “Tell Your Friends” feature to invite people to ‘Like’ my page…

Unfortunately, it appears that when using “Tell Your Friends,” if an e-mail address is not already associated with a FB account, then FB will send a big fat e-email inviting them to join FB.
Since I don’t have opt-in/opt-out info for my e-mail list, that would be very spammy.

Is there a way to query to find which of the addresses are already FB users, and then only invite those people?
(I realize that FB won’t give you e-mail addresses of users…unless the user has made it public…but do they allow you to verify whether or not an e-mail address is associated with a current FB user?)

(Sorry if this is a completely off-base question…).

Thanks,

Hbear

If you type an email address into the ‘Search’ box in Facebook, it will tell you if there is an account registered with that address. That could be quite a laborious process for 3000 people though…

You could script the process if you knew some programming… in that way it would be a little bit less tedious (just a little bit ;))
