ICANN Disputes

Hello,

Does anyone here have any experience of domain name disputes via ICANN?
I’ve owned a particular .com domain name since early 2006 and a company, who owns the .co.uk version of the name, has had their MD email me today, to assert a claim over the name. They attained a UK trademark in April this year, to trademark their name.

I’ve said I’m more than happy to sell it to them and am not an unreasonable person so am not asking for thousands of pounds either, but was wondering what costs they may incur if they persist in wanting to pursue dispute action with ICANN?

Any thoughts appreciated
Cheers,

If they don’t offer the price you want, I would fight it. You registered the domain name fair and square and it isn’t your fault they didn’t think to register it. Have your registrar fight with you on this one.

Hey,

Thanks for your reply.
I’ve managed to reason with the guy and have actually now agreed a sale, so sorry for the slightly premature post here!

Cheers
