How to use SSH key with PuTTY (Terminal emulator)

I am newbie in SSH clients use. Can someone suggest me how to use SSH key with PuTTY,

Start Putty, go to Connection->Data, set your login name.
Go to Connection->SSH->Auth, and give it your key.

Good question. I have a VM I can use the SSH tool with but I have been unsuccessful at using PuTTY for it. Therefore if it does not work for you then I suggest posting specific details about what you have tried and what happens.
