Use putty key gen in win10 , or , if yes but must use host Mac or Linux machine

I know linux login ssh with pub/private key (no password) using win10 putty ken gen tool… and putty itself …

Login to remote server or VM

Well this can achieved without use putty key gen in win10 , or , if yes but must use host Mac or Linux machine??

You can generate a key pair anywhere you want, for security it is best you control the machine that you generate it on.

For use in PuTTy, you need a .ppk type key file, for use with the command line SSH client, a normal .pem / .key type file works (and not a .ppk) - you can use PuTTy KeyGen to convert from one format to the other.

You mean convert use putty key gen, and in windows use a ssh client like git bash for windows 10…?

You can use PuTTY with the .ppk file, or you can convert it for use in straight ssh clients - i.e. git’s, yes.

using “git bash” client ssh this converted key what extension must have and where must saved?
