How to transfer awstats logs from old server to new server

Hello,
We had some issues with old server hence we migrated some websites to another new server from our old server.

We did a backup of all existing webfiles and database from old server and transferred the same to new server, a manual transfer few weeks ago.

However, we were not able to backup our awstats logs for this domains, can someone guide how to transfer awstats from old server to new server ?

We cannot perform an automated transfer from old server to new server now, is there some way we can migrate our awstats from old server to new server for this domains ?

Thank You.

SD,

WHY? If you have a copy of the old stats, why move them to the new server, too?

Okay, without knowing how awstats works, it’d be my guess that they scan the server’s log file(s) and generate their stats from that so I’d get a copy of the old log files and move them over - but ONLY if the log file format is identical on the two servers.

DK

To keep a detailed statistics of website

Hello,

Awstats logs are kept within the awstats/data folder, depending on what Control Panel you’re using.

I personally am talking from an Hsphere experience, where logs are stored onto

~username/domainname.com/awstats/data

Simply copy any possible txt ending files onto the new host’s Awstats directory and load them up.

Thanks.

What control panel is installed on the new server? If it’s cPanel, then you can copy your awstats files to /home/user/tmp/awstats/.
