How to build a team?

Hi,
I’m about to start a blog. I’d like to work with people / find editors. None of us will make money. It’s just going to be some fan stuff (books and movies). The project might include forums in the future, so the people I’m going to work with may become moderators.

How would you build a team? Would you post adds? Which criteria would you consider for “hiring” people of your crew?

Well you would have to find where people with the same interests hang out and simply ask them. The worse that they could say is no.

Also you might have to start the blog on your own before people will want to work with you. If you have content then they might see the potential that it has.

You could search for all the forums and blogs you can find on the subject and make quality posts there, if ppl like what you have to say then they will follow. It does sound like you’re jumping the gun a little, why do you need more team members on a startup blog? If the answer is “I need more content” then you’re on the wrong track.

I agree with Joshua. Just hang out with the same people who shares the same interest.

You might wanna make use of forum/communities which housed the same topic you have in mind. It will take time though to find the people you need but just be patient, and soon enough you will find yourself managing your own team

You could populate the blog with articles on the topic from article repositories like Go Articles or Ezine articles.

The easiest way is finding people as passionate in your niche as you.

How big is your site? if your site is not that big, you can rely on yourself.
Even if your site may be very big. At first, you need to build it your own, so that you can know what subject is your site, and then you can introduce your site to others.

I think the best way you can do this is befriend a lot of people before proposing. If it’s their hobby as well, they will do it.

Go ahead and start asking your close friends what they think. act!

Look at this blog,

It has blogger team. There are many writers and editors. Caughtoffside.com promise some rewards to people who want to join them and become writer of that blog. You can make this as an example.

Make money from your blog by ads. And then share the profits to all of your writers and team.

Well, this one would be a bit tricky, since no one is going to earn from it. You can start by asking your friends who have the same interest. You can also go to forums on the topic you want.

To get people to volunteer their time to writing/editing/etc you will need to find people passionate about the topic. I’ve seen it work really well in some niches… if people are passionate & knowledgeable about something but aren’t interested in creating a site of their own, they’ll likely be open to the invitation.

Try visiting forums related to the blog that you are planning to built. You will be able to find a lot of people there who would be interested in helping you.

You can use word press it not only offering templates but also acts content management system. check it out.

You can advertise to ad posting sites. And you can target them locally too. Just a suggestion.

Basically it would be difficult to find people who work for free. So you need to see in you friends and relatives who like this work. Or you can also try to check social networking websites to get the people you are looking for

You can visit the forums about your topic and post a notice to find the people who want to work with you

if your budget enough, why not to hire someone for ghost author
