Stay patient as it takes time for a new website to get a high rank. You should keep doing Off page optimization and gaining quality links from authority websites to rank high in SERPs.
If that was a new domain… you need to spend lot of times for doing Link building, an off page optimization… Create unique and new content for your site with your link and keyword then submit in to directories with PR and make sure that relevant to your site…

It depends on a number of factors which are somehow affected by keywords but not only. A major factor is how much competition you have. Ranking goes page per page so more than how long it takes for a domain, you have to look at every single page of your site and take care of that particular page. The sum of all will make your whole site rank higher.
It can take 4 months, it can take 2 years… or never. Work hard and you’ll get it. But it is impossible to give a time frame without knowing the competition well.
Keep patient, new domain takes time to get ranking and remember one thing not do lots of SEO activity for fast result for new domain because chances are to get penalize from google.

You need patient when doing SEO. I have 4 years experience in SEO industry. I got top ranking within 1-2 months for some of my customer websites. Most of those sites are Sri Lankan sites whose target domain is Google.lk
So I strongly think it depends. You will able to get good ranking for your websites within 1-2 months.
To get good ranking such as top 10 position it could take upto 3 months. I got it within 2 weeks. To achieve this result I did too many good backlinks, social bookmarking, article submit (Unique), social media post and directory submit.
Molona is right!!!, it depends upon different factors. First thing matter the most is keyword competitions, similarly it depends upon website on-page and off-page. If you website have good contents with good backlinks then surly ranking against high competition keywords can be achievable. SO very good SEO is required for getting good ranking…
