I don’t have a job yet, I just finished studies and it is likely that employees would not employ an inexperienced graduate. I know that one way to go would be to work with charities (I have started to look but not successful so far)
plus I have asked friends and family and they do not need a website.
Anyway, I was thinking, would you be able to help me with coming with some “fake project” ideaS which might be similar/related to what the current clients might need
I have researched and found these so far:
- web design agency
- loans websites
- real estate website
IF YOU COULD add any other types to the list. or if you think I should be concentrating on anything else, please let me know.
Now (as part 2 of the question) if i was to set out to create a fake real estate website: would it be ok if I:
1: make up the name
2: use fake images (and would these have to be within the copyright rules, or could I get away with google image)
3: as I know nothing about the real estate business would it be ok if I create the content by “stealing” it from other websites.
- so overall is it ok if the content and the company is all fake (but far from dummy text)
Also, and most importantly for me, would I be able to display these creations in my websites
What have you finished studying? Have you thought about doing your own website with work that you did at college.
For the second part of your question, it should be ok to make up a name for your fake real estate website, with the images you need to be careful as you need to read the copyright rules and as for the content, I wouldn’t “steal” the content from other websites as you could get into trouble.
You could go to your nearest real estate agent and asked them if you could design a website for them for free, then you won’t need to “steal” the content and they could give you some images.
So long as what you have designed is not copied or stolen from other websites, it should be fine to display these creations on your website.

if I could give a stealing example
If I create the first portfolio website I would get the structure by analysing other portfolios. From that I would realize that I need a “services” section to list services such as css, html, php - I would get that from seeing it on those websites
If I see 6 real estates websites which have features in comon and then if I use that commonality on my website, with content reffering to a fake organization and fake people, I am sure that I am not really copying anything appart from the stucture with my own wording.
thats why I used the word “steal” and not “copy” as I would make sure that if you compair my creation to the websites I was inspired by, you would not feel that I copeid anything. However, the reason that I am asking is that eventhough you might not be able to identify that the content is copied, the idea that the project is a fake, concludes that the content must have been copied from somewhere.
If I make sure I get this distiction right would I be ok.
following the structure of other websites & using your own wording should be ok, so long as you make it clear that is what you have done, I suppose it would be ok
