Google.com vs Google.co.uk

Hello,

I have ranked page 1 in Google.com.

Unfortunately, Google.co.uk is showing at about page 8.

I have not got backlinks or content that suggest it is non-UK content.

Any ideas how I can appeal to Google.co.uk?

Thanks.

Did you set up your International Targeting in Google Search Console?

I would like to rank internationally so I should not specify a region in Google Webmaster Tools.

I am asking why .co.uk, .fr, .de, .it, etc. google sites do not rank as good as .com.

Well you can’t have it both ways.

You understand that, as we know nothing about your site, nothing about your competitors, and very little about Google’s ranking algorithm, we can at best guess at answers here, don’t you? My guess would be that in the country-specific results, Google gives preference to sites specifically targeting that country. I could be wrong, but it seems not unreasonable.

OK - fair enough - I have read elsewhere that when .co.uk does not rank as well as .com it sometimes realigns with the .com ranking. I’ll have to wait and see.

Do you try to rank only organically or you are doing a local SEO for UK as well? If you have a physical location for your business, I would recommend doing Local SEO for UK which can easily complement the organic rankings and get you in top 3
