Can anyone here please guide me how to use Google Buzz. This looks confusing and i still don’t even know how to increase your followers?
Google buzz is something like twitter. You can update your status, share links, make followers. nothing more then this.
But you can navigate through various users in Twitter and choose whom to follow or not. But I can’t see anything like that in Google Buzz
Yes! You wont get a feel like twiter over google buzz. You need to send requests to google users to ask them to join you buzz. Its quite hectic thing… But i would recommend you to do this it is quit seo friendly and will definitely boost your ranking over google.
Buzz is a way for you to share status updates, video, audio and images with friends. Buzz also lets you import your activity from other sites including Twitter, Picasa, Flickr, your blog and others are bound to come.
By default, Google Buzz follower lists are publicly available for others to view through your Google Profile.
The great critique of Google Buzz is that there is essentially no place where “buzzing” is seen, except in SERPs, but that’s not apparent unless you search the same way.
The reality is that while Google is massive, they are very much a search business. Search websites, products, maps, plus phone, chat and email features on the side. What they lack is that large central community so while you can see the buzz indicators via Google Profiles, those are a seldom used tool outside of the marketing world and show no signs of changing yet.
For now it’s a debatable button but many have chosen to go for it in hopes of building future SEO credibility should google chose to use social influence on all searches in the future.
I wondered as well about it. Are the links you post in google buzz credited in google. Does google give you the upper hand if your ranked the same as someone else but they aren’t using google buzz?
yes google give importance to google buzz links and we should regularly do google buzz if you want to tell google about the importance of your site. Well there is no written rule about google buzz site ranks but it could add an extra factor to your ranking strategies.
At this time the weighting is only said to impact friends [via Google Buzz] who search. It seems logical that this will increase to more general searches over time but for that to happen Google really needs to get enough usage to have an effective sampling.
Buzz is another place where you can have a web presence.
If you’re using Twitter, just create a Buzz account and configure it to also list your tweets.
Google users will be able to follow you there if they don’t use twitter.
I don’t like google buzz, twitter is better. If you want, I can share with you the twitter strategy.
Google Buzz is effectively gone with the launch of plus. As such I’m closing this thread.
You can find several threads to chat about the new launch of Plus.
I guess before this thread is closed, I’d like to see a link to that information. I did a search and found nothing about Google Buzz closing, although Yahoo buzz closed in April.
All the Google Buzz help options take you to GMail help pages so it looks like Google have it integrated into GMail. I can’t see Google+ doing away with GMail and so I expect that GMail/Buzz will continue to be used (until such time as Buzz is incorporated into Google+).
Possibly someone was getting mixed up with Google Wave which was canned.
There appears to be an extensive list of Google products that have been discontinued at Let’s Celebrate Google’s Biggest Failures! with Buzz only appearing as one which might potentially go once its functionality is incorporated into a different Google product.
