Free Stock Photography Websites

I agree 100%. I don’t even bother looking for free photos anymore when very-high quality photos from istock, fotolia, dreamstime, etc can be had for $1. That’s cheap!!!

Thankfully, long gone are the days where we’d have to shell out $70 (or more) for a single stock photo from getty. That sucked…

I know this is an old thread but I’d hope this would be added to the list as well.

Public Domain Photos

I still monitor this discussion, so I appreciate your giving me another resource for photos.

Personally I use Dreamstime, not free but excellent pics.

As with any site, I would be sure to read the terms and conditions with all the ones in the list above. Sometimes the pictures use can be very limited or may require credit to be given to the agency/photographer. Just to be on the safe side so you don’t end up recieving a cease and desist from the photographer. I would also make sure the the photographer has a model and/or property release for any people or possible copyrighten places in the photos.

If you’re looking for free royalty free photos, we (cant post link - but you can do a google search for Cutcaster) have a free section or you can search our browse for photographs or illustrations to license. We have comps you can download for you mock ups and you can pay as you go or purchase credits. Let me know if you have any other questions.

We’re graphic designers who started our own free stock site. Our bank of images is small, but growing.

Click on an ad or donate, if you want give back. Comments and suggestions also welcome. If there’s interest, we’ll keep it growing. Free for any use, commercial or otherwise, no royalties etc. No people (so no model release issues), but pretty much everything else is fair game.

There’s a new stock photo site that should be on your list

Ookaboo: Free Pictures of Everything on Earth

As of today, Ookaboo has 525,000 pictures of 287,000 distinct topics and it’s getting better all the time because it loads 8,000 a day.

Unlike some other “free photo” sites, images on Ookaboo have no watermarks and are public domain or creative commons and can be used freely for both commercial and non-commercial use.

Great stock photography collections for the photographers and graphic designers, fashion designers.I also know one web sites devianart is giant competitor of fiickr.

If you are a registered user of Dreamstime - you can register for free - then they do have a large selection of free to use images:

This should be a sticky. I keep coming back to this resource and have to refind it via search each time.

My favorite to used free stock photo site is this one kozzi.com. Have you tried it? If not, you should try it coz this site is really very worth it. You will definitely love the free photos and images available here.
