For example in my situation, I have been in web development for several years with good success, recently changing course a bit to developing web applications and software. It would be great to work with other individuals in which their skillset compliments mine to collaborate and launch new projects, help market, launch new applications etc.
What would be the best method to seek out a legitimate partner to work with?
Certainly you can find better responses on other forums, yea. But the same question comes to mind - what exactly are you offering?
I think that you are looking for collaboration rather than ‘partnership’ , which is fine. Keep in mind that many people (like me) hear the word ‘partner’ and they think of a formal business partnership in which both parties bring a distinct thing to the table. Like, my partner handles client service while I handle delivery or something like that.
Working with someone is great - I try never to do projects alone
Thanks for the reply, development is what I do and where my resources are at as well as is the basis of my business. The focus has previously mainly consisted of work for clients so when I mentioned change of course this basically means I would like to get involved in more internal work as I feel this will yield more residual returns and serve as time better spent.
I would say what I am after is partner(s) to collaborate with that can bring more than ideas to the table. For example a marketer or someone involved in the web with existing traffic resources or networks in specific niches, we would work together to monetize that traffic and/or networks through either new development, or building out concepts, ideas etc.
I would first try to narrow down what you are looking for in a partner. You said that you went from web development to web applications/software - that narrows your field down from ‘huge’ to ‘huge’ so it’s hard to know where to look for partners.
Do you want to be a developer? Do you have ideas that need development? Funding? experience? What do you want and what do you offer?
